OK, here’s what’s been happening.

We were asked to go to China (Shanghai) but we had to keep it quiet as it was a surprise.

So, we headed off to the airport and went straight to the Virgin desk where the woman directed us over to the upper class check-in.

Like a doughnut, I asked if there was a mistake and quickly got an elbow in the ribs from Lagi.

“No”, she said, “you’ve been upgraded” …..ohhhhhh myyyyyyy god …. “are you OK?” the lady asked ….”yes, I’m fine” ….”you look very pale Sir” … “no, no, I’m fine thanks”

I was trying not to let it show, but I want to scream like a girl and run up and down the check in desk!!

Now what I’m about to tell you all is top secret and I’m not showing off, but you deserve to know ….infact, It’s my duty and I feel I have to tell you all.

We got led to this corridor where we had to put our boarding pass under a scanner and this big glass frosted door opens and …….well, let me tell you- it’s paradise.

While normally we are sat there waiting for our planes …in upper class there was a Jacuzzi, hairdressers (not that I need one), a buffet, a pool table, computers and a library. There were also lots and lots of sweets just sitting there.

Yes, we did fill our pockets I am ashamed to say but who knows when we would be allowed back in there again?!!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have tasted from the upper class cup and I cannot, and will not, ever forget it. When we got on the plane there were these chairs …well, not chairs but beds really. They were leather and they were so wide me and Lagi could have shared one!

As the plane was filling up, we were given a glass of orange juice and a set of pyjamas for the flight.  This was it, we had finally made it …we had finally hit the real big time. I looked at Lagi and he had a grin on his face the size of my chair. I winked at him, and he winked back.

I lifted my glass and said “cheers Mr Flatley” and he said, “no, cheers to you Mr Flatley”

As we smiled at each other, the stewardess walked up the isle with her tray….stopped by me… leant over and said ….” sorry Mr Demetriou, there seems to be some mistake”

Oh my god, not again, why me? ……why is it always me?!!!!!

I suppose we can’t really complain though- we had a brilliant time in Shanghai!!
